About this place
Take a seat at the counter and watch the chef craft each piece with practiced ease. Kogane Sushi carries the welcoming, understated charm of a classic neighbourhood sushi bar, where you can drop by without fuss to enjoy satisfying, generously cut toppings.
Midday diners will find reasonably priced lunch sets built around nigiri or scattered chirashi bowls, accompanied by a bowl of clear osuimono soup. Handed across the counter in steady succession, the lunch nigiri features familiar favourites such as sweet egg (tamago), cucumber rolls (kappa maki), and prawn. It pairs easily with a small draft beer for a light daytime meal.
The shop is just as accommodating come evening. Nigiri and chirashi selections are offered in tiers such as take (bamboo), matsu (pine), jo (special), and toku-jo (deluxe). The menu also features thin rolls including tekka maki (tuna roll), toro maki (fatty tuna roll), and natto maki, alongside assorted appetisers to accompany drinks. With about 6 counter seats and a small raised tatami area, the compact interior provides a calm, comfortable setting for solo diners as well.
